For the people who have convalescing ferrets who need extra calories, I
would like to mention something that I have found to work very well.
PetsMart carries a product called PEDIATRIC STAT for puppies and kittens
that is a condensed liquid diet.  You must dilute it well for ferrets.  They
drink it readily (even my most finicky eaters like it), and it puts the
weight on them very quick - they can actually get fat on it.  I give a
little (about one squirt of PS to four squirts of water) twice a day until
they are recovering well and getting fat.  It works fast - can notice the
difference in a few days.  Michaela's Bugsy might benefit from this.
