We have been thinking
about taking him with us, if we can bring him onto the plane with us in an
under the seat carrier.  I would never send him with the cargo.
 
I took my cat on the plane under my seat from Miami to Wisconsin.  The cost
was $50 and they are more than happy to do this..  When you call just ask
them about it.
