Hi all. Rocket met his first DOG! Our friend (a frequent weekend visitor)
just reclaimed his dog from his parents and will now be visiting with a 3
1/2 yr old very friendly lab (a HUGE scaredy cat-wimpers at the sight of
balloons and runs when the phone rings). Well, Rocket (the ferret) loved
Nicki (the lab) and wanted more than anything to sniff, play, etc. Nicki on
the other hand wimpered and hid under the table, tentitively sniffing and
snuffling. How do I get these two to be friends? I am afraid the hunting
instinct in Nicki will not allow her to befriend a small critter. I felt
so bad having to leave Rocket in his cage all night. I tried letting him
play in other rooms but he spent the whole time digging under the door
trying to get to the dog...Any suggestions?

As for the person who asked about fuzzy attraction to bathroom
scales, I have always wondered that myself. Rocket loves to curl up on the
scale. Maybe he thinks he has a weight problem. At 3 pounds, he is a little
chubby, although I think he has slimmed down since summer started. Is that
natural? Maybe its because he is shedding?

Happy ferretting

Diane
