(1)  Yes, "Crackers" the Rabbit is a family pet.  He is also, by
osmosis, part Ferret.  It is impossible to live with a Ferret and not
absorb some of that enthusiasm!
 
(2)  Being a teacher, I know that if you want to know something about why
a person is the way they are, look at their parents.  Based on this, I am
sure that Dr. William's dad must have been a great guy.
