In response to the numerous questions about nipping:  We got Rusty
from Path Valley Farms, the place owned by Fox Morton of the Barron's
book about ferrets.  They hire local teenagers to handle the babies,
and standard protocol is any ferret who nips gets flicked on the nose,
even infants.  I can attest that our guy from their farm is much better
behaved than the other one, who came from a pet store.
