Twas a dark night of Halloween moon,
When ghoulies abound to make you swoon.

The shadow creature is on the prowl.
She would launch an invasion, most foul.

I could feel her black eyes upon me.
Though for now, I really could not see.

I could sense her presence all around.
She made not even a single sound.

What was that, a shadow or a foe?
I did not now, nor soon would I know.

Would there ever be an end to fear?
Can that shape over there be her near?

In my tightened throat, I feel a scream.
Why me? No good reason, it would seem.

Dark wraith, I declare, please leave me be.
I know you are here, away with thee.

I look out left, the attack is right.
I turn and see such an awful sight.

Arrgh! My soda pop is upside down.
The wicked beast now a dancing clown.

I think this sums it up for a lot of us.
