A colleague's nine-year-old daughter really, really, REALLY wants a
pet ferret, but the parents are not sure they want to get one. For
one thing, they have a cat that does not tolerate other pets.

I said I would try to find some information that they could read
through to make an informed decision.

I'm sure this has come up before, but I couldn't figure out the best
way to search the archives to find details. Also, when I found a post
that looked promising, I didn't know how to "log in" to the archives
to get the person's email address.

Can anyone recommend any resources that I could give to my colleague?
I've loaned him my copy of Peach Fuzz, which was probably a bad idea
(from his perspective!) since it is a graphic novel/comic about a girl
who owns a ferret. I haven't read it in a few years so I don't know if
it will be useful or not.

Also, are there any shelters/fosters near Vancouver, BC? I know there
was/is FIRST, and I'll check their website again, but I wondered if
there were any other shelters that they could visit and get information
on ferrets.
