Leon the Brave led his 300 warriors into a battle where they were
grossly outnumbered. Bravely they fought to the last man. They didn't
win the battle but won the hearts of so many through their bravery

My name is Leon. I was rescued in October 2011 from a hoarder. I
was swept up with 300 cats and two dogs. We were living in filthy
conditions. Somehow I wound up with this person again and was rescued
from a dark garage with no windows eating dog food and confined to a
small dog cage that was really dirty with 19-27 dogs. On May 23, 2012
I was rescued again. The KC Ferret Hotline was called by the ladies
that conducted the rescue. Arrangements were made and I wound up at
Cheryl's place. What a different life! I am very thin and now I get
chicken soup everyday with vitamns and ferretone. The kibble is not
for dogs, it is just for me. I get to sleep on soft clean blankets or
little beds (where ever I want to sleep) and have not seen a cage since
I got here. Beats the heck out of dog food and a hard cage floor. I get
hugs, cuddled, lots of kisses. She lets me sleep in her arms and is
trying to teach me to play. She even talks to me and asks how my day is
going, are you hungry and are you happy. I think I'd like to stay here.

Since Leon has been through so much, the Director of the KC Ferret
Hotline, has decided Leon will not be put up for adoption. Leon will
stay with me for the rest of his life, free to roam, free to sleep
where he chooses and free to eat when he is hungry. He is loved,
stroked, cuddled and I will cherish the day he does a dance of
happiness. There will be pictures posted on Petfinder under Cheryl's
Kids as soon as I can. Leon came to me emaciated with weak legs, he was
confined to a small dog cage for 6 months. He gets a massage once a day
and I have him push (when he is in the mood) his legs against my hand.
When he feels comfortable I will see if he would like to be ambassador
for all the ferrets that are being or have been mistreated.

If you would like to sponsor Leon you may do so on Petfinder or at th
KC Ferret Hotline website KCferrethotline.com. We are a nonprofit
501(c) shelter.
