Hi.... I know times are rough out there for most of us and every time
we turn around someone is looking for money...I'm very aware of that
yet we have a shelter in Mo. that needs your combined help really
badly...................

Jean Squires runs the Ferreteer Shelter in Imperial Mo. I have known
Jean for years and she is a wonderful selfless shelter mom who is
running into trouble right now with a very high vet bill due to the
economy and the many ill surrenders. Jean has 2 recently surrendered
elderly ferrets who need vet care desperately and ASAP....her vet, Dr
Laura, has been very understanding but needs at least a $300.00 payment
to insure future visits..until now Jeans payments have been made on
time, personally but she is on disability and her hubby Tom was laid
off on Friday.. She also has 2/ two legged children to feed. Her latest
arrivals need those visits! One little girl is 5 and her vulva is so
swollen that it looks as if it will pop any second. She recently lost
her cage mate which doesn't help matters. Melatonin hasn't worked and
it looks like she will need exploratory surgery at the least. The other
little ole man is 6 and suddenly instead of pooping he is squirting
blood and nothing else. He seemed fine when he was surrendered Saturday
but Jean is now giving him fluids and doing her best to nurse him
herself but he really needs to be seen by a Vet ASAP..... Please, if
you can help in any way please do?? I have called her Vet with my debit
card and done all I can but Jean still needs your help...with just a
few dollars from many we can do wonders..( I just love the way people
wait until their ferrets get ill or elderly and discard them!!! Humans
can be so cruel!) Yanno I figure if the Shelters are willing to do all
the work and shed all the tears, the least we can do is help them with
the money end. Clubmedferrets, our Yahoo group, collected donations of
a few dollars from everyone willing, over the Christmas season and we
were able to split 400.00 up between 4 shelters!! Its easier than one
may think! Please donate whatever you can afford??? Even a couple
dollars can go a very long way!!!
