I recently had a ferret euthanized with large growths in its abdomen
He had a very large and nearly black spleen (maybe 6 times normal
size) but also 2 white growths 3 inches by 1 1/2 inches that look like
the "cuttlefish chalk" things put in Budgie Cages, that they sharpen
their beaks on. These growths were completely white and felt like the
cartilage piece found in chickens (not hard but flexible. Liver was
enlarged and also very dark crimson to black, he had trouble getting
over the lip of his litter tray, and for a very meticulous litter tray
user this was very unusual.
I have not seen or heard of anything like this does anyone have an
idea.
Harry was a big ferret about 2Kg very lethargic would walk about for
10-20mins then find a spot to sleep.
He had trouble breathing was gaining weight quickly but eating less.
His coat was in very good nick.
Unable to access a vet at the time so no help from that quarter.
Anyone with ideas?
Thanks Michelle
