I have a ferret I recently adopted from my vet that has a metal ear
tag. My vet teaches 3rd year vet students ferret husandry at VA Tech.
The ferret I adopted from him was used in his classroom for the
students to learn how to draw blood and then they neutered and
descented him for knowledge before he was adopted.. The ear tag has
054 on it. They are used to identify the ferret because they are not
given names. They are known by their numbers. The ear tag stayed in
and I have no plans of removing it unless it starts to bother him...
