Let me guess, the stuff your ferret hates is Flagyl?...I use Amoxy and
Carafate/Sufrulcate{sp}...Anyway, learned everything I know about IBD
and Ulcers and how to treat them from this site...I have had very good
luck with Amoxy 2x day and Carafate 4x day, every day until they are
eating on their own and poops are better. Sometimes it takes a long
time and you have to do this for a while. My ferrets will take this
mix better than most anything...I break the carafate pill into 1/8th
pieces, then crush the 1/8 piece and mix with a bit of water in a
medicine syringe. Mine take it real good..When the time comes for Amoxy
dose, I mix it right in with Carafate....I do this, then about 20/30
minutes later I feed soup... Usually feed soup/chicken baby food. Works
great for me, but is a lot of work and timely, Vets start with Flagyl
I think, if I remember right, it works faster. I don't like stressing
mine out anymore than need be, so I opted for long haul with something
they would like the taste of...
