It was a beautiful day at de Bridge. SaraFerret was napping by de Lily
Pond when all of a sudden a note dropped out of de sky onto her nose.
Well dat woke her up. She read de note and headed toward de cottage of
a certain fuzzy by de name of Penelope.

Quick, hurry Penelope, put down dose toys, someone is crossing de
bridge. So off we headed toward de entrance.

Penelope hid behind one of de posts. I stood at de entrance. We was
just in time! Here comes Abe with his bouncey type walk. He abouts
bounces right into me but I manages to step aside (I has gots smart
like dat over time-I read de note about bouncey fuzzies).

I introduces myself, Hi I am SaraFerret and I am de bridgegreeter.
Welcome to de Rainbow Bridge. Dis is your new forever home. Here you
will have no pain or suffering. You will run forever on green grass
and no nasty litter pans, did I mention fun and games and oh yes lotsa
friends.

De little fuzzy seems somewhat sad and says, Well my name is Abe and I
belongs to Mommy Stephanie, but she says I is not feeling well and I
was gonna have to go somewhere and meet some other fuzzies and someday
she would be with me, but she isn't here and I wanna go back home,
cause I don't understand dis place.

Den all of a sudden Penelope jumped out from behind de post and Abe saw
her and in dat moment he felt better den he had for a long time. Like
a MIRACLE had taken place. Together dey leaped and danced all over de
place. Wardances galore until dey both wore down.

Den Abe noticed Penelope's wings. Hey he said, dose look cool. Do ya
think I could get some of dose? I bet I could really bounce and fly
high with those.

I spoke up after dey gots thru chatting and said of course, Abe, you
will get wings. Every fuzzy dat crosses de bridge gets wings.

So off we went down de garden path toward Kit and Kaboodle where de
wings were stored. We opened de door and on de counter was a big box
(of course). He opened de box and took out de wings--Royal blue with
bold black streaks. His mouth opened in a big "O". Penelope helped him
on with his wings and I adjusted his halo. He ran to de mirror and he
gazed at his reflection and looked back at us and said, Gee I wish
Mommy Stephanie could see me now. Den I gots an idea.

So off we went down de garden path toward de Misting Pond. We sat down
beside de cool clear water and with one swish Mommy Stephanie appeared.
Dey both started waving and dooking and it seemed like she looked up
toward de sky. Hey Mommy, Abe dooked. Look at me. I has blue wings with
black streaks and I will be able to bouncey higher den ever. I can fly
now. I don't hurts anymore. I can even walk good now. I love you so
much Mommy. Den both of dem started throwing hugs and kisses and
wrapped dem with dere love and laid dem on a nearby shooting star which
was headed toward your house. Dey did make a promise dat dey would
visit Mommy one day in her dreams and she would know dey had been dere
by a musky scent or a scratchy whisker on her cheek. And with another
swish de vision was gone.

So off we went down de garden path toward de cottage where Penelope
lived. A Welcome to de Bridge Abe sign was strung across de cottage.
Abe whispered to me, How did dey know I was coming?

Oh we has our ways, I replys. Inside de cottage, food was laid out and
a group of fuzzies bounced out and yelled "Surprise!" Music started
playing and Abe was so impressed dat he just started bouncing all over
de place. Oh yeah, dere was lotsa of raisins and foamy fries dere,
among other foods, but he was so busy bouncing and dancing he didn't
pay any attention to de food. After all he was in his new forever home
and he knew dat one day Mommy Stephanie would join him and Penelope
here.

So ended another greeting at de bridge.
