I am a ferret shelter in Virginia and my 'fostering' is not the same as
that of dogs and cats. It is the older and special needs ferrets that go
into foster settings. Fostering varies but generally, I agree to pay the
medical bills and medications for ferrets in foster care. Medical care
must be approved by the shelter first. The normal daily living expenses
are covered by the foster family. If I know that a foster family is
having a hard time financially, I will provide a bag of food and/or
litter every now and then but that is rare. This has seemed to work
for us. I hope the information helps you.

Robin,
