I've seen my ferrets kill a mouse and a rat that were loose in the house
and there's no doubt it was quickly done.  I still think it's a bit cruel
to submit the mice to so much terror before they're killed.
 
I get my mice from a facility where they're raised in a very clean
environment and killed by CO2 gas before being frozen.  Much safer for
the ferrets and much more humane.
