**I have seen subcutaneous lipomas in ferrets, although not intra-
abdominal.  Then again, I still haven't seen an abdominal lipoma in
a dog, that location being far less common.  While I agree that the
majority of lipomas are benign, the fact that it is causing discomfort
would make me recommend removal if the ferret seems healthy enough to go
through surgery.  At the same time, his insulinoma could be surgically
addressed.**
