I live in california, have 8 ferrets and have no problems at all, the
hardest thing is finding a good ferret vet, they will all treat them and
take your money, they are not required to , nor do they turn you or your
information over and can not be found guilty of anything now.  I am in
northern calif and have no problems, I am careful, but not overly so.
 
I hope you enjoy whereever you end up and please don't get rid of your
ferrets because you are coming to this state.
