Pregnancy test, test the level of progesterone in the urine, not FSH and
LH. FSH cause the follicle to develop with the help of granulosa cells,
and theca cells. Once developed LH will cause the follicle to ovulate
their for releasing the oocyte. High level of progesterone only tell
you if the follicle has developed a CL. Therefore detecting pre-adrenal
in ferrets through a pregnancy test wouldn't be sufficient. Being that
the ferrets are spayed the constant stimulation of LHRH to the Anterior
Pituitary to the gonadatrophs would secret constant levels of FSH/LH.
There is no negative feedback from inhibin or testosterone to the
hypothalamus to slow down stimulation for LH/FSH. This is a main reason
why adrenal is so common in every ferret. Unless we can develop a way
to keep the gonads but not allow ovulation to occur in females, and the
sexual behavior in males.

Would be funny to see!

One question: Are ferrets induced ovulators? [Sure are! BIG]
