With so much going on for everyone I hate to post but adoptions are so
slow right now and I am hoping to peak some interest :) The PFRA has 9
ferrets available for immediate placement at the Westmoreland County
branch. These are ferrets that have been at the shelter too long and/or
have been through significant trauma and are in need of stable forever
homes. 6 of these kids are from a large scale ( 70+ animals) collector
neglect/ abuse confiscation. If you have room in your heart and home to
give any of these ferrets a second chance with a loving *permanent* home
please contact me. Ferrets are listed in way that they will be adopted
out ) ie pairs stay together etc.

Luda (Dk sable male dob 10-12-01) and Chan (Chocolate Mutt male dob
9/17/01) are a pair of wonderful boys. They are from a western pa
"breeder" and we neutered around 10-14 weeks of age. They are very sweet
and playful. Luda in particular is an energizetr bunny while Chan likes
to play but is more interested in cuddle time and calmer pastimes. They
get along well with other ferrets and would make a great addition to
their new home.

Modo ( sable male dob 11/7/00) and Runner ( large chocolate male dob
1/15/01) are a very active pair of boys. Do not let their middle age
fool you. They are constantly on the move and ready to play at a moments
notice. Runner has some nipping issues that tend to surface most when he
is playing. He has not broken skin yet but he can nip hard when excited.
These boys get along well with other ferrets. Not for the novice owner
or someone with small children.

Boots (Champagne standard female 4/13/03) and Bandit (sable female dob
4/13/03) are a cute pair of girls. They came into the shelter quite
skinny and we are working on getting a healthy weight on them. Boots
had a past biting problem but has not tried to bite since being here.
Because of this these girls would not be good for the novice owner or
someone with small children. The girls are playful and inquisitve and
get along well with other ferrets.

Bandit ( sable male dob 5/27/01) is a single ferrets who loves people.
He has never been around other ferrets prior to coming to the shelter so
he is kinda scared and intimated when he meets another ferret. He is
sweet and cuddly and seeks out attention whenever he can. He will make
someone a great companion and friend.

Ricky ( panda roan male dob 8/1/01) and Lucy (chocolate mitt female dob
8/1/01) are a great pair of ferrets. These two are not immediately
available as Ricky will be going in for adrenal surgery next week. Once
he recovers they will be ready to go to their new home if one is found.
Ricky and Lucy are sweet, happy ferrets that have really blossomed while
at the shelter but they have been here over a year and that is way too
long for any ferret. They need a home to call their own.

***All ferrets are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, ADV
tested and negative, vet checked and have any known medical conditions
treated prior to adoption****

If interested please read through our adoption policy at
http://www.ferretrescue.com/adoption/ and fill out the application at

A reasonable adoption fee is being asked for these ferrets. My goal
is to get them placed into new homes as soon as possible so that they
can live the life that all ferrets deserve....as cherished pets. Any
questions can be directed to the above e-mail address.
