Wow, am I the only one who has boy "fixers"?  Maybe it's more of a
motherly trait...
 
WRT the poop issue, I have a similar sort of problem... in that the boys
will happily go in whichever corner I choose, provided I /don't/ put a
litterbox there.  I don't know if they dislike the litter or the box or
whatever, but as soon as I put it in their toilet corner they just dump
next to it.  At the moment I just have newspaper down (thank heavens for
our lack of carpets) but it stinks to high heaven and is absolutely
disgutsing to change ^^;
 
I'd be greatful if somebody could give a solution, or just a suggestion.
Is there a kind of litter that most ferrets actively like, perhaps?  I'll
try just about anything right now ^^;
