Ok, now that I have read several posts it's time for mine.

How many people out here know the origin of the Danish Angora Ferret.
For those of you that don't I'll let you know that they were originally
bred and raised for their pelts. If you don't believe me check out the
history at Parrot of the World web site.

One person posted that animals that are sold for pets should be
protected. Thats a nice thought but then what would we feed out
reptiles, last time I looked most of the snakes out there ate mice,
rats, rabbits. As a matter of fact during easter I see rabbits for sale
all the time but I can also go the the meat freezer at the grocery store
and see rabbits.

Dogs and cats are the most popular companion known to man but I have
been to several countries who raise and slaughter them as we do cows and
chickens. I have also seen that several of these K-9 keepers will have
other dogs and cats as family pets.

As was brought up many people today taxidermy their pets, but what
becomes of the piece after the original owner passes. The pet is handed
down until it is no longer remembered why or who this pet was. At that
point there should be no reason the taxidermy piece can't be sold to
someone who will take care of it.

I know the biggest issue here is if the animal was killed for it's skin
or died from natural causes. If the owner of the piece has proof it was
vintage there should be no problem. Perhaps these people are selling
pieces in order to feed their family vice going on welfare.

Just my thought
