Morrison had Spirit who had been left with her for a week while his
person went on a previously planned vacation (beginning June 15) and was
only gone for one week. When it came time to pick Spirit up Morrison
made excuses not to return him (that he was sick). Every time (numerous)
Morrison was asked she made more excuses. Animal control was contacted
first week in July, and they called Morrison the first of the following
week to ask her to return Spirit to his person. Morrison stated she
wouldn't return him without $500 payment... there had been no mention
of payment at any time previously, more like a friend watching another
friends ferrets.

The end of that week, animal control called Morrison and scheduled an
inspection. Per Morrisons sentencing in April, she was to allow
inspections with a 4 hour advance notice.

When animal control arrived at the condo in Layton (where 261 ferrets
were confiscated from in Sept. 01), Morrison wasn't there, nor were the
ferrets.

But we didn't give up. Through group effort, Morrison was located in
Boise ID and Spirit was finally turned over to the authorities then
released to a wonderful ferret caretaker.

What did Morrison do to poor Spirit? Did she lock him away in a cage
with no food or water and leave him to slowly starve to death? Why? Did
she feed him only enough to keep him barely alive? What was her purpose
to slowly starve to death this precious innocent being? Does she crave
control over anothers life to the point of slowly killing them?

Can you imagine poor Spirit being locked in a cage with no one to come
to his aid? His stomach growling and gurgling the stomach acid churning
with pain in an empty stomach? His thirst going unquenched for days on
end?

His pain? His suffering?

And Morrison has other ferrets, a mother and babies and two kits from a
petstore. Do they suffer in silence as Spirit did?

How many other Spirits are out there?

We must not stand still and silent.

hugs. tle
