the reaction should have been dealt with a.s.a.p. not 15 minutes later!
my beloved scooter butt's first reaction to the distemper shot was dealt
with 5 minutes later!  i was on my way home when he started vomiting( no
blood) i stopped the car and called my vet right then and there.  he said
to bring him back in to stop the reaction that he was reacting to his
baby shots!  i had to sit there for about a half hour after the rest of
his shots!  2 years ago he had another reaction , we were still at the
vets and as soon as he started reacting( listlist) i told them emediately
that he was starting to react again.  they gave him cortisone and
benadryl.  we had given him the benadryl before the visit but it didn't
work that time!  at first he was on 1/2 a teaspoon benadryl then after
the second reaction the vet ( because of scooter butts size) told me to
give him a full teaspoon from then on!  i gave him his benadryl about 1/2
an hour before the vet visit.  he had his last shot last november and
didn't react.  it can be a scarry thing if you are unprepared or that is
the first one to react to the shots but remember that he can have another
reaction maybe not the next one but always be prepared for another one
and find a new vet !  this one might say she is a ferret vet but from
what i just read she is not!
