I am not following this exactly - is she scratching the lump itself?
 
just to be on the safe side, I'm going to recommend a vet visit.  It may
be a skin tumor, or it may be what we call a seroma - where you have a
lot of blood pour into a area from a trauma, and then it clots and you
end up with a pocket of serum.
 
However, if she is scratching like the devil at it, sometimes it is better
to just take it off.
