Hi All,

I would like some advice on a slight problem I have. Tally (neutered
male, 4 years, loved beyond measure) has begun digging up the carpet. I
know this is a normal thing for ferts to do but he's not done it before to
this extent. I tried putting some Plexiglass on the floor, he pushes it
to one side or digs at the edges. I tried telling him 'no', he now moves
away from the door until I walk away and goes back to it. The only thing
that seems to work is putting his harness and lead on and cuddling him for
a while. Trouble is, I don't want him to think digging up the door gets
him a cuddle when they are on tap anyhow!

I'm worried that he's bored as my other two, Bailey and Fane, play with
each other most of the time. Tally tries to join in but the other two are
wrapped up in each other. It's heart-breaking watching him trying to play
and being ignored. He gets tons of attention from me but whenever I look
away, he goes back to the door.

I'm worried because he had his left adrenal gland and spleen removed a
year ago and he's getting rat-tail again. Could it be that the boredom
or lack of playing with the other two could make him ill? Maybe I should
get a fourth (yes I know - ferret math!) as company for him?

Am I doing something wrong? Any advice would be very appreciated here!

Thanks and dooks,
Susan
