Hi.  I don't think Stan meant that the eagle was disgusting-I think he
was pointing out the irony of having the first time he saw one be at a
MOMENT he found disgustiong, referring to the bombings, not the symbol
of our country.  Yes, our country does make mistakes, and many people
are disgusted by the bombing, but I think you misread his words and
misunderstood the meaning here-it wasn't the eagle/symbol, but the
bombing that was upsetting.
