Dooks all....

Well, it has been a rough month here at the Haven. We lost the last of
the 3 that were hit hardest by the massive flea infestation we're now
battling--and winning a little too late. Frisco had only been here for
a little over a month, but he weaseled his way into our hearts quickly,
especially since he came to us on the same day we lost Harri. He helped
us cope a little better with her loss. I held him until his last few
minutes (coffee run), he took his last breath while I was trying to stay
awake with him.

Sandee tell all of them--Harri, Thunder and Frisco--that mommy is sorry...
I wish I had noticed earlier, but I marked it up to the change in
detergent. Make sure that Thunder & Harri meet Frisco, even tho' Harri
didn't know him and Frisco wasn't too fond of other ferrets.

Right now, I'm going on hold for the shelter until I get these fleas gone.
I also have to get a handle on my broken heart (and head from kicking
myself).

On the bright side, we may have a forever home for little Bilbo! He was
surrendered to us about 3 weeks ago (with no name), after the "college
stupids" (no offence intended) who bought him realized that he was beyond
their capabilities. He is the most loveable, kissy 13 week old I have
ever encountered. If the couple who wants him changes their mind, he
might get "assimilated".....I'm a sucker for lap ferrets.....

Trying to explain ferret math to a non ferret owner
is like trying to explain Physics to a 3 year old.
