Hello FML-ers,

After reading many posts about litter I realized that I have never seen
anyone recommend corn cob. I have been using it for years - it has a nice
clean smell (much better than clay or newspaper litters!), is very easy
to clean and cannot be inhaled. When I managed a pet store we used to
use it for birdcages, it is sold under several brand names - I like the
Kay-Tee-Kob the best - and you can buy it in bags up to 40lbs. I think
it's only drawback is it is more expensive than plain wood pellets, but
all pet stores carry it (it is sold as a bird litter) so it shouldn't be
hard to find.

While I am here I need to tell you about my favorite ferrets:

My favorite ferret is Crockett, because she was my first ferret. She is
my fierce panda girl, always ready to defend herself against other ferrets
who think they are the boss and hands that are trying to pick her up. She
is almost as big as my boys and loves to steal their raisins. She is the
one who throws litter all over the cage if mom is late letting the ferrets
out and she has decided that the couch is her mortal enemy and will not
rest until it is completely destroyed. Crockett is my special girl.

My favorite ferret is Conan (the Destroyer), because he was so little when
I brought him home from the pet store. My little champagne boy, Crockett
used to grab him by the face and drag him around. He would scream when
she grabbed him and then scream when I put them in separate cages.
Finally I just kept them separate until he was big enough to defend
himself, then he clobbered her. She still think she is the boss, but
Conan knows better. He is my biggest and best boy, never nips is still
just too cute. He can also un-pot a plant in less than 30 seconds.
Conan is my special boy.

My favorite ferret is Elvis, because he was my first rescue. He was all
alone in a cage at the pet store and the owner was pushing the cage out
onto the sidewalk every day - in the summertime! She said it smelled (she
should have tried cleaning it!). As soon as I heard about it I went in
and bought him and the cage. He was about 6 months old, a beautiful dark
sable with claws so long he was having trouble walking. He is my champion
war-dancer, my kissy boy and a master thief. He loves heights and is
always trying to leap up to the highest spot he can find, he also takes
the longest to wake up and has to do alot of stretching and rubbing his
face before playtime. Elvis is my special boy.

My favorite ferrets are Tubbs and Nikita, who have already gone on to
their next lives. They were both special girls.

Dooks to all,
