I have encountered a new problem with Verne. I try to train her
consistently, the right way. When I get frustrated, I just hold her up
(I can't scruff her, she bites hard and hisses) say no and put her in the
cage. Also, she has recently started to run up to me and bite when she
isn't the center of attention in the room. But, she just doesn't nip, she
hisses really loud. I think she is mad at me, but still she shouldn't try
to hurt me. She isn't biting my foot or hand, either. She chooses to
latch onto my leg or forearm. I don't neglect her--we play together every
day and she runs around the rest of the afternoon/evening and follows me
while I do chores. Why is she hissing? Does this mean she is mad? Also,
how can I scruff her without getting bitten? Any help would be much
appreciated.

Thanks,
Kristin
