The Massachusetts shelters, like most shelters, are ALWAYS full and need
to turn unwanted ferrets away! To help with this situation, we are
encouraging people to take in foster ferrets. There are a couple of
options--short-term or long-term temporary care, with medical expenses
paid; food is also provided if needed.

Please, won't you consider helping out in this way, even if it's just for a
short time! You will be helping some wonderful ferrets, and will be paid
in love and ferret kisses!

Bandit and Mia are a wonderful bonded pair at Luv of Ferrets Shelter in
Tewksbury, Mass. If you live near Tewksbury and can consider taking them
in, please contact shelter mom Jo Fowler at <[log in to unmask]>

Jo will give you all the details about what's involved with fostering. You
can see photos of these 2 wonderful fuzzies at the Luv of Ferrets website:
<http://www.luvferrets.com/>
go to: "Available Ferrets"; then "Types of Ferrets" and "View Pairs Here"

"Bandit is a 4 year old Dark Silver Mitt & Mia is a 3 1/2 yr old Lt Silver
Mitt. This is a "special needs" bonded pair. Bandit had benign left
adrenal surgery in November although his coat had grown back, he then
presented with a 2nd hair loss pattern. Suspecting possible right adrenal
involvement he was put on Lupron. All it took was 3 treatments and he now
looks like any other happy, fit ferret. His outlook on life is one of the
most socially active ferrets in the shelter. His cage mate Mia, on the
other hand, although extremely healthy only "loves" Bandit. She does not
really like other ferrets. She too, is playful and interactive with
humans. This pair of ferrets needs to be placed in a family that has lots
of affection to give and must be only ferrets--the family that gives this
bonded pair a home will only receive pleasure because of it." [or they can
go with someone who is able to have separate playgroups if there are other
ferrets in the home.]

I will be posting about other ferrets on a regular basis; the other 2 Mass.
shelters are in Wareham and Central Mass. so if you live closer to those
areas, please stay tuned for more updates! Thank you!
