Greetings all,

Need some medical opinions from the best source I know of.

Winnie has insulinoma and after having surgery almost a year and a half
ago, she's been great until now. I knew she was sick again because she's
been so symptomatic. The three of us relocated to L.A. last year from
K.C. and decided on a a Vet that seemed to know what he was talking about
after speaking with him on the phone, that and he said that he would be
willing to work with me to take care of Winnie.

Anyway...........After our first visit, the blood test confirmed what I
allready knew, her blood sugar was at about 40. After consulting a couple
of his colleagues, he prescribed diazoxide(?) to dramatically decrease her
insulin output from her pancrease. No problem execept it's about $150.00
for a 30ml bottle! I called my Vet back and asked him to come up with a
"Plan B" that was a bit more cost effective in the long run. I'm still
waiting to hear back from them and that is why now I'm asking for some of
your experience and or wisdom about options.

Winnie is about 4 or 5 now (not sure because I rescued her), is current on
her vaccines and other than her obvious bouts with hypoglycemia, she is in
really great health and is an active normal little weazel.

So! Any (constructive) thoughts will be much appreciated.

Thanks to all......
Good health to you and yours
