Dear Collective,

Please excuse my cross posting to the FML and Ferret Geek Lists.

As many of you know, Modern Ferret has been struck by some pretty serious
bad luck. In the latest issue (#26), it was made known that the
distributor (also a magazine producer) that was bringing MF to petstores
has ceased distributing other company's publications. Those who purchase
MF off the news stands in pet stores will find the magazine has
disappeared.

According to MF, Petco has said they will only continue to carry MF if
Fancy Publications will pick up the account. As Fancy is a competitor, it
is doubtful they will do this. I have called the magazine buyer of the
Petco companies to complain, and I suggest every one on these lists that
cares to see some variety of ferret publications on the shelves of stores
do the same. If the various pet chains stop selling MF, Fancy will be the
only game in town.

Petco's Magazine Buyer is named Jennifer Gracia. She can be reached at
(858)657-2030. Please call and make your wishes known.

Thanks,
Matthew and Paula (the humans) Sherlock, PB, and Gryphon (the fur snakes)
