Howdy y'all! The theory that the russian ferret may be a polecat seems right to me. I don't know if they are in the wild in Russia or not but the polecats I've seen do look exactly like domestic ferrets (other than being bigger, though I'm sure some of your big guys could rival them! ;)) The first time I saw one I started jumping up and down because it looked exactly like Booger, one of my sables. I've noticed lately that sometimes we don't read an entire post or do but let our emotions take over and end up writing something that can hurt people. There have been several times that replies don't reflect what the original poster said. Not wanting to single anyone out I'm using this absurd example: "Why didn't you ask the ferret if she wanted her fur dyed pink? They get really ticked off if you don't, how could you do such a thing, no wonder she pooped on your forehead last night." When in the original post the ferret had asked to be dyed pink and the owner was just doing what the ferret wanted. My suggestion is, if a post bothers you read it several times before posting a reply. Many misunderstandings and hurt feelings can be avoided by slowing down and making sure what you are upset about isn't addressed in the original post. Just my two cents. Merry Dooking!
