HI FOLKS!!!! The Open House at Ferret Wise was agreat success! At least that is what the folks have beenn saying-- more than 40 folks arrived some even came from York, PA-- (can you imagine that??? )and made tons of noise and munched on things I couldn't eat! Several door prizes were given away, but they didn't look anything like the door to me! Holiday Raffles were drawn-- and some folks from this list mailed in to win prizes-- so mom says we need to let you all know that the winners were: 4 Ferret Calendar Mugs- Jan DeJesus, MA Deluxe Bath asst. with loofahs, puffs etc., incl.2 ferret shaped soaps by Ela Heyn- Mary DeCoff, ME Ferrets USA Magazine, SOS Ferret Fun Book and asst note card sets- Jean Samu, PA Kangaroo Carrier by X-tasy Ferrets Etc. - Janice DeJesus, MA Peeper Sleeper & Top Sleeper Hammocks by X-tasy Ferrets Etc., Rosalie Pate, VA Deluxe Sleeper Hammock by X-tasy Ferrets Etc., Mary Cohen, MA Fun Tube and jingle ball asst- by Funalia- Judy Boka, NC Stocking & Ferret Toys- Melissa Archambeault, MA Angel Wall Plaque -Judy Boka, NC Holiday Basket , Sandy Ferreira, MA and finally - the "Thanks Giving" Raffle - featured a framed limited edition signed print by artist Clara Rodriguez- "Frolicking Ferrets" . This was drawn Dec 12th and the lucky winner of the print was Mary Cohen, Brookline, MA. These events helped raise $360. for the shelters veterinary program and assisted in the spay / neuter of 5 recent intake ferrets in November. Thanks to all who participated and especially those who visited and brought newspapers, laundry detergent, paper towels & bleach-- Mom can keep right on cleaning up after us now!. Oh yes --The date has been set for next years picnic "Ferretstock 2000" it will be held rain or shine on Sept 9th ( Saturday), 2000. Costume contest "Flower Children" and Jerry Garcia Look-alike!
