To all you knowledgeable FMLers, I pose the following questions, in hope that you will answer: l. RE: Totally Ferret: I am going to try TF for the first time. (I cannot get it locally;(the pet store told me that they cannot order it b/c TF has a *deal* with Petco.and other bigger stores, and will not send to the little stores. Is this true? My main question here: is the TF for older ferts as good tasting as the regular TF? Fang is 5+, and a very fussy eater, and I'm not sure he will eat it. Whichever I order, should I mix it with his adult Iams that he has been on all his life? Does he HAVE to eat the *older Ferret* if the reg. tastes better? I will wait for your answers before I order. 2. RE: This is a bit embarrassing, but I don't know what a cheweasel is. I looked at the store, but only saw the usual pigs ears, dried beef sticks, and rawhide stuff (that I heard yrs. ago not to feed your dogs b/c of blockages), but didn't see anything called a cheweasel! Please tell me if that name is on the package????? Where do I buy it? 3. RE: Woodstove pellets: I drove 74 miles to get some at the Home Depot, as many of you wrote about how great it was. I bought the 40 lb bag, and Fang won't have anything to do with it! He is going NEXT to the litter box, which he has always used quite faithfully. Do I grind it up, or what is the secret? 4.RE: Litter box suggestion: We use the shallow plastic rectangle plant *saucers* from Wall Mart, or wherever you can find them. They are great; they measure 6 1/2" x 16" x 1"deep, and are fairly inconspicous; fit easily under things, and come in colors. :>) We have several around the house (wherever Fang tell us to put them). However, in the cage, where he spends only his nights, we have one of the yukky, plastic, rust colored hospital barf containers that actually make the best litter boxes for cages! The sides are easy to cut down (we leave three sides deep, and cut only the front)...I pick 'em up at yard sales for 25cents. 5.RE: Past thread about Mike's opinion of bypassing the front desk receptionist; if my ferret was needing immediate attention, there is no way I would "wait" til they could fit me in; I would not be rude, as I'm sure Mike wasn't, but I would express myself in such a way that I would get my ferret help; in these cases, often a vet assistant can help until the vet is available. There is no way I would sit still. I back Mike 100%, and no need to bother flaming me; this has already been run into the ground on the FML, and flames don't bother me as I stand firm in my beliefs. ...and I believe in you guys, and only wish that all pet owners loved their animals the way we do our furbabies! Happy Tails, lizzi in Colorado p.s. I lied about the bitty part again. [Posted in FML issue 2853]
