I have read something on the FML list I did not care for. The incident with the Warm Fuzzy ban. I read this message in the morning before I went to the show and was going to comment on it then but as I was angry and the adjectives I was using at the time were not for mixed company, I refrained from this until I had attended the show to find out first hand, but this did not make me any less angry. The SVFC deliberately banned a rescue shelter because of a incident that happened 2 1/2 months ago and specifically ordered the rescue not to bring any ferrets to a ferret show or they would not be allowed to enter the show hall even though the shelter had documented proof from a vet that Aleutian Mink Disease was not present in any of their ferrets. I did not see any other ferrets show any documented proof their ferrets did not have it. The same person who had the ferrets with the disease could have been at the show with the same ferrets that had the disease or any other ferrets at the show could have had it but as they were not checked how do we know this. It is present in the area as honestly reported by the said shelter. The flyer handed out at the show said there would be no ban against any ferret that had any disease. Why I ask the SVFC was this one singled out? I don't expect an answer to this question as there is none except the deliberate political backstabbing persecution of one ferret rescue by an idividual or individuals in the Susquehanna Valley Ferret Club for some other perhaps personal reason. How does this pesecution help the ferret community? The Warm Fuzzy Shelter is maintained and supported by sales at ferret shows. If they are forced to close up who will fill the void that is created and rescue the ferrets in this area. The answer is probably no one. They will be turned out to die a tortured death somewhere in the country side or put down for no reason other then they are unwanted. Again I ask how will this help the ferret community? In am directing this meaage at the SVFC, but in all honesty I personally think that the majority of the club members are sincere ferret loving people who wish to promote and educate the community at large on the benefits of owner or being owned by a ferret. However since the individual or individuals did not have the intestinal fortitude to to identify themselve in these actions I can only blame the the club itself. Who will be banned next so they cannot enjoy a ferret show? How many will be banned? What is going to happen to the club if this politcal maneuvering continues? Will the club itself be riddled with bickering and infighting to the point of uselessness and eventual doom? The same question applies, how will this help the ferret community in this area? I will let you ponder these many questions and accusation to come to your own conclusions as I have. You can flame me if you like but can your computer handle the fire from the replies?
