Just to clarify: the reason that urinary pH matters is because when it raises things like bladder stones form. These are a documented problem, and have been mentioned by ferret owners here on occasion as well as in the medical texts. Fortunately, the incidence reported in the FML seems to have greatly decreased since the early FML years, very likely due to there now being better foods available.
