Don't get me wrong, folks. Judy Moon produces some great ferrets - I have two from her, but I must clarify something, I had to work just as hard at potty training them as all the other ferrets I have had. Yes, it does help when the breeder puts a litter pan in the cage early on BUT it does not necessarily make that much of a difference. I must deflect the fact that Judy is boasting about her ferrets being potty-trained and this is just not the case - at least not with the two I got from her. All the ferrets I have, came from breeders and they all had litter pans in their cages when still at the breeder's home. This made NO difference whatsoever. My point is, we all know that potty training takes alot of patience and work and regardless of where the ferret originates from, there is still going to be alot of training necessary. NO breeder can logically claim that a kit is "potty trained" before leaving their facilities. Hopefully, there are no "newbies" out there who will believe a breeder or pet store about this - this could set the person up for severe disappointment and could result in the ferret being dumped (no pun intended). You can disagree with me on this, but resort to logical arguments, not name-calling and flaming. Take care~ [Posted in FML issue 2879]
