Hi all of you FFLs ( Friendly Ferret Lovers.) Its been a very busy week in this household. Bandit is amazing! He has put on weight and is now 2 lbs 14 oz. He is war dancing like a fool, chasing me around the apartment and acting very ferrety! He seems to be settling in very nicely. I'm tickled pink. Smokey had a bowel infection, that was causing the bloody poops. He provided a stool sample for the good Dr. No parasites found and her verdict was it was not contagious and stress related. He is now eating on his own and is 2 lbs. 9 oz. He has gained 9 oz. in a little over a week. I'm still giving 3 duck soup feedings a day. Even though he is eating on his own and he has gained 9 oz., I feel his little body still needs some filling in. He also seems happier and is a little more playful with me, he stills tires quickly. But all in all I am very pleased with their progress. Their ex-mom was in to see them on Tues. and couldn't believe the change in them. She raved about how much better they looked and how much weight they had put on. She even thinks that their coats are much softer. She also thinks they look happier. It's amazing how much a little love and attention will do for the little dears. Ex-mom held them both for a little while and then handed Badit back to me. When I took him from her he showered me with sooo many kisses. That was the very first time Bandit kissed me. Do you think he was asking me to keep him here and not send him back to that other place??? I like to think so <evil grin> Mitzy is another story alltogether. I'm not really pleased with her progress. She is still not eating on her own, but will take duck soup really well if it is offered on a spoon or from a syringe. She is drinking well and has even gained a couple of oz. She seems active enough, but not as much as before. She is still having loose seedy poops on occassion but not always. I feel something is not right, but can't tell exactly what is nit right. It's nothing I can put a finger on, so to speak. I guess you could call it a gut feeling. She is going back to the vet in the morning for a barium xray, to rule out a hairball or partial block. Well I'm off to feed some more duck soup! I'll try to keep everyone updated. I also light my prayer candle every day and pray for all of the sick and abused ferrets of the world, that they may recover to full health and find happiness in new loving homes.
