My husband works for a large corporation in the Adirondacks. He walked into his office at work last week, and what was waiting for him? A small weasel (the real kind). Of course as much as he loves our ferrets he decided this little guy needed to be saved instead of exterminated. So they captured him and took him into the adjacent woods and released him. To make a long story short......they have "saved" this little weasel three times and he keeps coming back. Calvin said he darts around just like the ferrets, diving for cover if anyone gets too close, running around the mill, creeping under the heaters along the floor edge (just like ours do at home), but is apparently not terrified of being around people. I was afraid that he would get hungry, but apparently there are enough mice on the mill grounds to keep him satisfied and he doesn't appear to be starving. They aren't quite sure what they are going to do about him, but he is rapidly becoming a mascot. They just warn the customers and sales people that if they see a little weasel running around the offices not to be too alarmed, just to let him pass! Any ideas about how to find this little weasel a good "country" home? Karla Meep and Daisy [Posted in FML issue 2870]
