"Ferret does rewiring job for missile warning unit" is the headline in the AP story reported in Sunday's Cleveland Plain Dealer. Misty, owned by Lt Col Randy Blaisdell, had a yarn tied around her as she ran through 40 ft conduit filled with other wiring to help connect some new computers in the US Space Command at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado. The one pound Misty, who Blaisdell has owned for 6 years, completed her task through several conduits in about an hour. Her reward was a strawberry Pop Tart, her favorite treat. The article describes a ferret as "a four-legged, furry, inquisitive relative of minks." Blaisdell says "She really enjoys going through the conduits. And she definitely works cheap." Our taxpayer dollars finally put to good use! :-) Linda Iroff Oberlin, OH Support the Ferrets Unlimited/Raisin Retreat Ferret Shelter by visiting http://www.iGive.com/html/ssi.cfm?cid=3585&mid=30146 [Posted in FML issue 2824]
