Hi all, I live in Salt Lake City Utah and have owned my ferret for about six months. He has had his shots and is very well taken care of. I called several pet stores BEFORE I bought him and asked if they where LEGAL to have here in Salt Lake. I was told YES. So now I find an article in the newspaper saying that technically they ARE NOT LEGAL in Salt Lake....I am mad. The article said that they don't enforce it much and that they let pet stores sell them but that they expect the buyers to know if they are legal or not. The article did say that Salt Lake is looking into changing this ordinance. I am upset because I tried to find out before I bought him and now that we are so attached and in love with our little guy I see an article in the paper telling me I shouldn't have him. Should I be worried? Is there anything I should be doing to help keep my little guy? I just don't understand peoples thinking, my ferret has always been so kind and loving that I just don't get why he would be considered an illegal, harmful pet. Thanks for reading.
