Marlene I found your report on the pet industry show very interesting, especially the differences between the PV and MF reps and how their ferrets were cared for. But what peeked my interest the most was: >The other PV ferret has what our vet thinks is a congenital defect with >his jaw. He cannot open his mouth more than 1/2". My Buttons, a 2-year old from a reputable breeder, can only open his mouth about that much. I was once told it was related to the Waardensburg syndrome. Buttons has a blaze and is deaf, but I've not seen this in any other deaf ferrets. Buttons does not have any difficulties eating as a result of the jaw problem, and it doesn't seem to bother him. The only problem is that he has a tendency to pinch our skin with little nips when he is playing!
