Hi Everyone-- I'm having something of a problem right now and I thought I could get some help by posting here. I *had* a couple good vets that I trusted, were good with the ferrets, etc, but this weekend I really needed to have one of my guys seen and they had no appointments available before Wednesday (maybe even longer). I can appreciate that they're busy but I no longer feel safe going to a practice where it takes more than 24 hours to be seen (maybe I'm being picky but I don't like calling a vet with a possibly ill ferret on a Saturday and told that not only was Saturday booked but so were Monday and Tuesday) . Thusly, I'm in the market for a new vet. I have a 4 year old with insulinoma and two others about the same age as her (no problems with them yet, knock wood) so ideally I'd like to find a doctor who's had experience with geriatric patients and their potential conditions, and could handle any acute illnesses that could come up. I live in western Fairfax County so a vet in the same area would be good. I'm probably just doing some wishful thinking....I"m having a bad feeling that I'm just going to have to deal with the congested practice I go to now but I figured it would be worth a try anyway. If anyone has any recommends, email me privately....it takes me forever to get through a whole FML. Thanks, Laura Ellis PS: In case anyone was about to get concerned, the sick fert in question did get seen at a vet on Saturday and is being taken care of. :-) [Posted in FML issue 2824]
