About that.. I went and looked at it.. Not nice.. However, as you are all
protesting, who is offering a solution?

It's not nice, granted. But if it is put there, then obviously someone
DOES care. Therefore one can assume that they really can't do any better
than this. It looks rather nasty, but from what I hear there are regular
pickups where the animals are taken to a proper animal shelter, and
presumably food or water or there wouldn't be much point in doing pickups.

Also, there were 3 slots as far as I could see.. I made out one for cats
and one for dogs, I presume the rest are for most other animals, which is
basically small animals, rats, mice etc.. So as to the welfare of ferrets
(wasn't someone commenting on that?), unless someone popped a giant
man-eating hamster in there, I don't think the ferret has much to worry
about. Of course this is only a guess, I couldn't make it out clearly,
apologies if I'm mistaken.

Now. This setup obviously isn't the best thing possible, although it may
be the best thing available. Any ferret (or other animal) being dumped
presumably hasn't had much of a fun life anyway, so I don't think that a
short time in there before being picked up and taken to a shelter and cared
for will really do much.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like this. However, I'd prefer that ferrets,
etc spend a short amount of time in there then taken and cared for, than
they are popped in a bag and dropped off a bridge, thrown out of a moving
vehicle, or maybe just have dad pop out the back and kill it.
