I know this has been discussed at length and fairly recently, but of course
I never read it because I didn't think it would apply to me. Friday while
I was at work someone broke into our home. Thank god that they didn't go
near the fuzzies and didn't destroy the place. Actually the fuzzies
protected that room. I had to leave them out of their cage that day
(which I never do) and lock them in their room while I was at work. We
the burglars heard them scratching at the door and wouldn't go anywhere
near that room -- so the ferrets saved the computer. Thank god they were
not harmed.

Saturday my husband went out and got a one year old Rottweiler. I was
involved in this, but I honestly didn't think he'd do it -- figures! He's
a very nice and well behaved dog, however I am terrified that he will not
get along with the fuzzies he's fine with them in the cage (except of
course he tried to mark the cage). But last night he was downstairs and I
was moving the fuzzies into another room so I could let them play, the dog
came in while I was carrying the last one, he jumped up and nipped at his
tail -- is this a sign of things to come? Or is it a socialization issue.
The deal is that if he doesn't get along with the ferrets, he goes -- it's
the ferrets house. That is something I am not comfortable with either. I
didn't really want a dog, however I can't just dump him otherwise I'm no
better than those people I bitch about. Well anyway I want to give him a
fair chance, my husband really wants the dog and I can't argue. After all
he keeps on letting me add to my fuzzy business.

Can you Rottweiler owning Ferret slaves advise me on the introduction.
