Hi everybody, I have been on the FML for about 2 weeks now, and I really enjoy reading about the good and the bad that ferret owners go through. I currently am not a ferret owner, mainly cause I am not allowed to have them in my current living situation. Ever since the first time I played with a ferret and held one over a year ago I have known that this is the pet that I someday want to have. I am glad that I subscribe to the FML cause one thing that I have learned is that I have a whole lot more to learn before I can be a responsible parent for a fuzz butt. I would like to get to know more ferret owners in my area and I am hoping that since I can not have pets of my own at this time that maybe there is a local shelter that I could volunteer some time at. I feel this would give me a chance to learn as much as possible about ferret ownership and make sure it is really the pet for me. Besides the more I read about shelters the more I realize that there are probably some ferrets at a local shelter that could use an extra dose of loving. If anyone has any input on this I would love to hear it. BTW I live in Baltimore, Maryland. My prayers go out to everyone who has lost their fuzzy friends recently and to those who have sick ones. Barry PS I wrote this earlier but did some surfing instead of sending it. I found the site for The Baltimore Ferret Club and found out they have their monthly meeting on Sunday Aug 15th. The neat thing is the meeting is only a couple of miles from where I live. I plan on going to the meeting to see what I can find out there. I'll let you know what happens, but mean while I would still like to know what everyone thinks. [Posted in FML issue 2771]
