>From: Jennifer LaRossa <[log in to unmask]> >Subject: ? re dog/ferret compatibility Well our little dachshund (not well bred - between miniture and standard and between smooth and long hair) called Low Rider is not at all snappy. And would be most suitable for the situation you are in. Its my understanding that the breed tends for lap warmers like that. So far absolutely no interaction problems with the other small critters or the goats. At her short height she isn't a good buddy for our hormonally charged German Shepherd bitch. The GSH dog just looks at the daxy with befuddlement. I've long called dachshunds "ferret dogs" although its literally "badger dog" another mustelid. They were bred to hunt in a somewhat similar fashion to ferrets but for the fur bearing larger animals. -bill -- bill and diane killian zen and the art of ferrets http://www.zenferret.com/ mailto:[log in to unmask] [Posted in FML issue 2743]
