Okay, this is really a long shot, and a bizarre suggestion. However, on the other hand, it can't really hurt, I figure. I've been reading a column written by a doctor in the "Health and Fitness" section of my local paper (The Star Ledger) for some time. Several times, now, he's mentioned that eating coconut macaroons has helped some people with chronic diarrhea dramatically. He just mentioned it again in this morning's paper, which is what made me think of it when I read of your ferret's problem. There's one specific brand of macaroon (the name of which I can't remember) which is suppsed to be very helpful .. but people are using other brands and reporting success, too. I don't think anyone really has a solid (no pun intended! ;->) explanation for why the macaroons help cure the chronic diarrhea .. but they do, at least for a fair number of sufferers. Maybe it would be worth a try? - Ela [Posted in FML issue 2712]
