FERRETS NW, recently recovered a lost ferret (May 29th) and was fortunate to get the ferret back to its legal owner the next day. Today (Jun 2nd) another lost ferret was picked up by FERRETS NW from the person who found it. Ferret is in residence at the FERRETS NW shelter. For obvious reasons the ferret cannot be described nor can its pickup location be made known. This ferret will remain here until identified by its legal owner and retrieved or if not retrieved within 30 days of this posting, will be made available for adoption into a home that is deemed "qualified" in the considered opinion of Edward Lipinski, Director of Ferret Endowment for Research, Rehabilitation, Training & Education Society, NorthWest. Deferral of pickup by the legal owner to the 29th or 30th day may subject the owner to pay a $5.00 per day boarding fee rather than making the small donation that is normally requested. No more "free" boarding for the "quick-witted" owners. Anyone having lost a ferret in the past few days may be well advised to contact FNW by email or phone @ [206] 232-1228. All claimants will be required to ID their ferret out of the the total population of ferrets that are currently domiciled. Claimants are required to sign a form titled, "RECLAMATION OF LOST & RECOVERED ANIMAL BY LAWFUL OWNER. A donation to FNW will be requested from the legal owner at the time the ferret is returned and the longer the ferret is retained, the greater will be the requested donation. Any one attempting to defraud FNW by claiming ownership of a ferret not legally owned by that person will be immediately referred to the Mercer Island Police Department on a criminal complaint.
